Hey ya’ll, its D here!
I’m so pumped to tell you that I have begun another Detox! I’m sad to say that with so much going on in my life right now, I have not had time for me. I know it sounds strange, but I have been trying to stay on top of everything here at home, school, and these ‘jobs’. I’ve been keeping myself so busy, that I have lost interest in myself.
it sounds odd, I know. But I have to remind myself that, I too, matter. (:
We’re all like that! We get so caught up in life that we forget or we just end up putting ourselves to the side. I don’t want that to happen any longer, and I don’t want you guys to feel like that either.
So lately, I have been feeling kind of different. A scary different. I’m guessing its because I’m so tired of this, that and the third. But no mo’! These last couple of days I have been focusing on myself and nothing but me. I have been taking some mental notes and I have a lot to work on. I’m motivated and I find myself inspired by many things everyday.
You’re probably rolling your eyes. I know, I talk a lot! Lemme get started…
This morning I begun my 2nd round of the Juice Detox. Today was Day 1. The last detox was WICKED! I was so strict with myself that after the cleanse was over, I had gained what I lost. I’m not just talking about weight, here. I’m talking about mental strength. I know I’m strong. And sometimes I lack the knowing of that. (If that makes sense.)
I started my day with a Strawberry-Banana Smoothie with a pinch of Chia Seeds. No added ingredients after that. (unless you count the ice!)
Its so simple! This morning I made a little less than I should of, which is why I’m craving food right now! But this is what I recommend:
4 Cups of Strawberries (I cut them before putting them in the NutriBullet(which I must say, it is AHmazing to use))
2 Frozen Bananas (I put them in the freezer already cut, and in a container, a night before)
1 Nice little pinch of Chia Seeds. (I’m vegetarian so this is a MUST for me!)
I put the strawberries and the bananas together into the NutriBullet for about 1 min. After that, I just poured it into a picture perfect mason jar (I know, sooo cliche!) then I topped it with the Pinch of Chia Seeds. and WALA! I must say though, it is a bit yummier if a few cubes of ice is added. I like my fruit to be nice and cold. And I mean, come onnn! it issss a SMOOTHIE!
WARNING! Do NOT be alarmed by Chia Seeds. For those of you who have never tried them or seen them, they are complete rad fellas. 😉 They’re these itty bitty tiniest of seeds that are super great for you. They are ridiculously rich in Proteins, Fiber, Vitamin B and so much more goodies that we need. They are especially good for us vegetarians since we don’t get our protein from other sources 😉 . But don’t be discouraged to try them. Just because they sound so healthy and look so odd, doesn’t mean they’re icky. They actually don’t have a taste. That’s a main reason why its so easy for me to add into my salads, food bars, juices and smoothies. I promise you, they’re not bad at all.
Fun fact? Chia seeds are in the mint family. 😮 hehe
So, there you have it guys. The simple Strawberry-Banana Smoothie. What a lame title for my smoothie. 😦 Help me out and donate some rad smoothie names my way!
I’ll be keeping you guys posted. I’m on my way to my kitchen to try to use Apples in today’s juice!
Oh! And one more thing; all of you are worth it. I’m sorry if I don’t say that enough. But I promise, all of you are worth the time of day. Don’t forget to look out for you while you’re looking after others. You matter too. I mean, if you don’t look after yourself, then who’s gonna look after the people you do? 🙂 See? Take care of you so that you’ll be mentally, emotionally and physically healthy too.
I love you guys. I’ll keep writing, as long as you guys keep rocking.
Here’s to another Detox. (Raises mason jar, clinks with other jar)
ok…i’m done for now.
